For some years, FLOETER has had a solution for this problem with various ESD bubble wraps that correspond to the requirements of the standard DIN EN 61340-5-1. These are made by FLOETER in its own production using specifically developed processes.
Consequences of ESD:
- Higher costs
- Poorer quality
- Additional work
- Unhappy customers
Protect components and people from electrostatic discharge
Highly sensitive components need antistatic packaging protection during transport in order to prevent possible damage and danger, as well as to prevent returns: whether computers with hard drives, semiconductors and circuit boards, batteries and chargers, meters, laboratory equipment, controls, automation technology, sensors, displays and much more.
Protection against electrostatic discharge with bubble wrap has two dimensions: firstly components are protected against damage, and secondly however employees in logistics or production are protected against electric shocks. During transport a component may be charged to such an extent that the employee can expect more than just a "small spark“. Many companies therefore require their suppliers to use antistatic bubble wrap.
Tip: Check the correct surface resistance
If you want to be quite sure that you are using the right ESD bubble wrap for the requirements, take a look at the technical data. The ESD standard classifies materials for protecting against ESD on the basis of resistance classes. These resistance classes differ in terms of Ohms. For bubble wraps, this value is between 10 to the power of 7 Ohms and 10 to the power of 12 Ohms (dissipative materials). Very frequently, clients prescribe the precise value needed by their suppliers.
With FLOETER you are in good hands because every ESD film has the maximum ESD packaging protection as standard, namely the extremely low surface resistance of just 10 to the power of 9 Ohms.
Maximum precision needs excellent protection
Previously, excellent ESD properties of 10 to the power of 9 Ohms were reserves for expensive films. With the new LOC nano-technology, FLÖTER offers a new generation of ESD films in the thinnest and thus cheapest design while simultaneously achieving uncompromising ESD values. For optimum ESD protection during transport: whether strengths of 12 to 20 μ, load capacities of 30 to 1000 kg, rollers with lengths of 200 to 3000 metres or widths of 210 to 840 mm.
Extensive ESD film delivery program
So if you do not want to compromise with regard to ESD protection for your components and still want to move as cheaply as possible, you can rely on the extensive range of FLOETER ESD films. The right film is available for every purpose and every pocket, from thin to thick films, from narrow EDS bubble wrap chains to wide ESD bubble wrap pads. This flexibility distinguishes FLOETER from other providers, which often only have one ESD film in their range.
